Partner Investigation

Doubt about your partner is one of the most profound experiences there is. Perhaps there are small signals: different phone behaviour, unexplained absences, changed habits. Or perhaps there is already a concrete suspicion, but certainty is missing. In both cases, the uncertainty can be paralysing. A partner investigation gives you that certainty. SAJ Recherche carries out partner investigations in accordance with Dutch private-investigation law (the Wpbr) and holds Ministry of Justice permit POB 8779. Our evidence holds up before the Dutch courts. Either the outcome confirms what you fear, or you can let go of the doubts, either way, you can move forward.

What we investigate

How do we collect evidence of infidelity?

We tailor the approach to your situation. Observation of activities, contacts and locations forms the core, documented with timestamps and photographic evidence. In addition, we conduct digital investigation via public sources, social media and OSINT, and verify statements, addresses or employment history. We work exclusively within legal frameworks, no breaking into phones, no illegal tracking. The result is a factual report with verifiable evidence.

Is the evidence admissible in court or in a divorce?

Yes. Evidence collected by a licensed investigation agency in accordance with the GDPR and the Wpbr is legally admissible. This is relevant in divorce proceedings, alimony discussions, division of assets and custody arrangements. In alimony cases, evidence of cohabitation is particularly relevant: under Article 1:160 of the Dutch Civil Code, the alimony obligation ends definitively when the recipient cohabits with a new partner as if married. We collaborate with family-law attorneys for this.

Frequently asked questions

How can I have evidence of infidelity collected?
You contact SAJ Recherche by phone on +31 20 782 3222 or via the contact form. After a confidential intake conversation we draw up an investigation plan. Our investigators then carry out surveillance and, where relevant, digital investigation. You receive a factual report with evidence that is legally usable.
Is collecting evidence of infidelity legal in the Netherlands?
Yes, provided the investigation is proportional and carried out by a licensed investigation agency in accordance with the GDPR and the Wpbr. SAJ Recherche holds Ministry of Justice permit POB 8779. We assess every request for lawfulness and proportionality in advance.
Can the evidence be used in a divorce or alimony case?
Yes. Evidence collected by a licensed agency is legally admissible before the Dutch courts. In alimony cases, evidence of cohabitation is especially relevant: under Article 1:160 of the Dutch Civil Code, the alimony obligation ends definitively when the recipient cohabits with a new partner as if married.
How discreet is a partner investigation?
We work with experienced surveillance specialists who know Amsterdam and the surrounding area at street level. They change position and vehicle and minimise the risk of recognition. In our experience, the partner under investigation rarely notices.
How much does it cost to collect evidence of infidelity?
The cost depends on the duration and methods. Our hourly rate for fieldwork starts from €125 excluding VAT. After the intake you receive a transparent, fixed quotation. Payment: 50% in advance, 50% on completion.
How quickly can the investigation start?
In most cases within 24 to 48 hours after the intake. In urgent situations we aim for the same day.
What if the outcome is reassuring?
That is valuable information too. A negative result, no evidence of infidelity found, gives you certainty and is equally usable as documentation in legal proceedings.

Living abroad, with a partner in Amsterdam?

A large share of our partner investigations are commissioned by clients who are not in the Netherlands, people based in the US, the UK, the Gulf and beyond whose partner lives, works or travels to Amsterdam. The intake, the agreement, payment and your final report can all be handled remotely and entirely in English, so you never need to travel here yourself.

If that is your situation, see our dedicated page for international and expat clients: Infidelity & partner investigation in Amsterdam, including the Schiphol and “business trip” scenario, and a step-by-step explanation of how a remote investigation works.
